This week, we started a Postcard Exchange program with other homeschool families! With this program, we send Maryland postcards, and receive their states postcards in return. It is a great way for the kids to learn about other states while having fun and receiving mail, which they love!
Here is how it works..... We have created a chart where we have each family listed, the date we sent out their postcard, and the date we sent them a postcard! This will keep us organized (which is good for me) and will allow us to see where we have sent and received postcards from!

When we receive a postcard, the kids then place a different sticker on the map to mark where we have received postcards from. This keeps it fun and they can visually see their progress! We use a small hand print sticker to show the states we sent the postcards to, and a small frog sticker to show where we received postcards from!
We have also created 2 scrapbooks for the postcards the we receive! The pages are decorated for each state. The postcards for that state will be attached, and as we learn the facts bout each state throughout the year, this will also be attached.
There will be 2 pages per state (or more if needed). This will be a great resource for information throughout the year!
We also created a scrapbooke for the countries that we receive postcards from! It is neat to look through them! The scrapbooks are in alphabetical order so that it is easy to find the state that you are looking for.
